Investigation of the influence of external factors on the efficiency of locomotive traction motors

Abstract

The efficiency of locomotives is largely determined by the condition of their traction motors. As a key element of electric traction, traction motors are particularly sensitive to changes in operating conditions, which determines the relevance of conducting an analysis. These units operate in difficult conditions characterized by a wide range of external factors. These include climatic features of the regions of operation, the quality of electrical energy in the contact network, mechanical influences from the track, and the quality of technical maintenance. All these factors can reduce the efficiency of engines, shorten the service life of their components, and increase the risk of accidents. Therefore, studying the impact of external factors is important for improving the reliability and cost- effectiveness of rail transport.
