Сутність криптовалют і перспективи їхнього розвитку в сучасних умовах

Abstract

UA: Стаття присвячена аналізу новітнього підвиду цифрових грошей, а саме криптовалютам. У роботі розкрито зміст такої категорії, як криптовалюта, описано історію виникнення цієї економічної категорії, розглянуто основні види криптовалют, виявлено їхні переваги та недоліки порівняно з паперовими й електронними грошима. Наведено відношення платіжних систем до технології блокчейн та криптовалют. Проаналізовано основні тенденції розвитку основних криптовалют із найбільшими рівнями ринкової капіталізації та надано їхню характеристику. Проаналізовано ставлення до криптовалют урядів різних країнах світу, їхній вплив на економіку цих країн та напрями подальшого розвитку. Приділено увагу правовому статусу криптовалют в Україні відповідно до чинного законодавства, а також ставленню НБУ до використання технології блокчейн у проведенні платіжних операцій в Україні. Крім того, слід зазначити, що, зважаючи на новизну категорії «криптовалюта», натепер немає однозначного розуміння напрямів їхнього подальшого розвитку.

EN: The article is covered to the analysis of cryptocurrencies as a new type of digital money. The main idea of the cryptocurrency and a mechanism of functioning of this type of digital money are a topical matter of this economic research. But it is worth mentioning the insufficient scientific development of this theme despite the relevance of research of the sense of the cryptocurrency and its role in the economy. In part, this is due to the novelty of this type of money. The work reveals the contents of such a category as cryptocurrency, describes the emergence of this economic category, considers the main types of cryptocurrencies, identifies their advantages and disadvantages compared to paper and electronic money. The cryptocurrency is essentially a type of a digital currency based on complicated computations of a function, which can be easily verified through reverse mathematical operations. The main idea of the emission of the cryptocurrency is the principle of POW. In the first, the concept “cryptocurrency” has been used after the appearance of the peering payment system Bitcoin. There is a growing interest in the cryptocurrency is related to the demand for fair money in the world and the total anonymity, and the protection against counterfeits of cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrencies possess enough considerable quantity of both advantages and disadvantages. One of the largest disadvantages of cryptocurrencies is the expansion of the underground economy and the anonymity of payments contribute to the attractiveness cryptocurrencies for the criminal sphere.
