Abstract

Intermodal transport systems are characterized by the possibility of carriage «from door to door» based on the principles of logistics. At each stage of the transportation process, the balance of the number of seats offered to passengers is ensured in accordance with the level of demand. Delivery of passengers on the route is carried out by various modes of transport, working on a single agreed schedule. Transportation is carried out by one legal entity (organization), which can carry out transportation independently or entrust this process to other transport companies. The trip is carried out on the basis of a single transport document for all modes of transport on the route. In addition, a single level of passenger service is provided throughout the entire route on all modes of transport, in accordance with the class of travel.
