Study of the transition of railway infrastructure to European standards

Abstract

At the onset of the military invasion, the significance of western railway corridors increased dramatically. The western routes provided access to EU territory and further to ports, handling large volumes of cargo transported by rail. However, the substantial rise in rail freight from Ukraine exposed several issues related to the integration of Ukrainian railways with EU requirements. To address these challenges, the implementation of a European-standard railway gauge within Ukraine has been proposed.
