Розвиток залізничного туризму у гірських регіонах України: виклики, бар'єри та перспективи

Abstract

UA: Стаття присвячена дослідженню особливостей розвитку залізничного туризму у гірських регіонах України в сучасних умовах. Проаналізовано теоретичні підходи до визначення сутності залізничного туризму, узагальнено сучасні тенденції розвитку транспортно-туристичних взаємозв'язків та розглянуто практичні аспекти функціонування туристичних залізничних маршрутів у Карпатському регіоні. Досліджено сучасний стан залізничного сполучення з основними туристичними центрами Західної України та визначено його роль у забезпеченні сталого розвитку територій. Встановлено ключові інфраструктурні, організаційні, фінансові та інституційні бар'єри, що стримують розвиток залізничного туризму. Обґрунтовано перспективні напрями інтеграції транспортної інфраструктури й туристичної сфери, спрямовані на підвищення туристичної привабливості гірських регіонів.

EN: The article is devoted to the study of the development of railway tourism in the mountainous regions of Ukraine under the conditions of wartime challenges and post-war recovery. The relevance of the research is determined by the increasing importance of sustainable tourism development, the necessity to improve transport accessibility of mountainous destinations, and the growing demand for environmentally friendly and safe means of travel. Railway tourism is considered as an effective instrument for strengthening domestic tourism, stimulating regional economies, and preserving the natural and cultural heritage of mountain territories. The purpose of the article is to identify the main challenges, barriers, and prospects for the development of railway tourism in the mountainous regions of Ukraine and to determine the directions for improving the integration of transport and tourism sectors. The study is based on a combination of general scientific and special research methods, including analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization, and structural-logical approach. These methods made it possible to assess the current state of railway tourism and identify its key development tendencies. The results of the research show that railway tourism has considerable potential for increasing the accessibility of mountain regions, enhancing tourist mobility, and supporting socio-economic growth of local communities. At the same time, the study reveals infrastructural, organizational, financial, and institutional barriers that limit its effective development. Particular attention is paid to the importance of digitalization, intersectoral cooperation, and modernization of railway infrastructure as essential conditions for the formation of a competitive railway tourism product. The practical value of the article lies in the possibility of applying the obtained results in the process of developing strategic management decisions, regional tourism programs, and public policies aimed at strengthening transport-tourism integration and improving the competitiveness of mountainous regions in Ukraine.
